Maximilian Feuerring

Maximilian Feurring (1896–1985) was a prolific painter and worked as an art teacher and art critic in various countries. In World War II he served with the Polish Army and was taken prisoner and held captive in several prisoner of war camps. Feurring, who lived in Sydney from 1950, twice represented Australia at the São Paulo Biennial and was awarded the Albury Art Prize. He is sometimes known by his Polish surname of Feurring-Emefowicza
