Stephen Trebilcock

Born in Montacute in the Adelaide Hills and raised in Winkie on the River Murray, Stephen Trebilcock's art is heavily influenced by his childhood spent on a fruit block and his passion for gardening. Although he is self-taught, Trebilcock's approach to painting is rooted in his drawing skills, which he has honed over years of careful observation and study. Hill-Smith Fine Art hosted Trebilcock's first solo exhibition in 1990, and they continue to represent him. Trebilcock was awarded a scholarship to Europe in 1993, where he studied at the Slade School of Art in London and spent time in Venice, which greatly impacted his work. Trebilcock currently paints in his Adelaide Hills studio and has held multiple solo exhibitions in Australia and abroad since 1990.
